Chapter Events
Below is information on our ZTA Alumnae chapter and some of the events we have planned for the upcoming year!
What we do:
Signature Events- The ZTA Alumnae chapter of SWFL hosts several signature events that happen every year, which includes things such as our recruitment event, our golf fundraiser, a Founders Day celebration, along with other annual events. We announce the dates for these events at the beginning of the year so you can plan ahead, as we hope to have as much chapter attendance as possible!
Sisterhood Events- We like to have as many opportunities as possible for our alumnae sisters to spend time together, which is why we have “sisterhood events” that happen more often outside of our signature events. These can include things such as potlucks, happy hours, or community events. These events are typically announced through social media and sent out through our newsletter, as they typically are planned in less time. The chapter will host several “sisterhood” events, but sisters are welcome to post about any events or plans that they would like us to attend.
Service and Philanthropy Events- As we know, service is a large part what makes us Zeta Tau Alpha, and we continue that with our alumnae chapter through service projects and philanthropy events. Some of our previous service events have included donating school supplies, collecting canned goods, and our largest service event has been our Drive Out Cancer golf event. Our National Philanthropy is breast cancer education and awareness, and our National Think Pink Partnerships include the American Cancer Society, the National Football League, and Bright Pink (a national educational organization focused on prevention and early detection). As an alumnae chapter, we participate in the American Cancer Society’s “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer” walks, as we have two of these events in our area. This year, we also hope to partner with another alumnae chapter to take part in passing out ribbons at one of the NFL’s “Think Pink” games.
Collegiate Chapter Support- Alumnae/Collegiate relations is a large part of what we do as an Alumnae chapter. The local chapter is the Kappa Tau Chapter at Florida Gulf Coast University and one of our goals is to support them as much as possible, showing them that ZTA is a sisterhood for life. Some things we do with the local chapter include providing support throughout Recruitment, attending the chapter philanthropy events, assisting with Senior programming and transition, and hosting events together like our Founders Day Celebration.
